Passed Away: November 22nd, 2025
Ali Akbar Sanaie, 92, of Coquitlam, B.C., passed away on November 22, 2025. Born in Shahmirzad, Iran, he built his life through hard work and determination. He lived in Tehran until the 1979 Iranian Revolution, after which he immigrated to Canada and continued his entrepreneurial path. In Coquitlam, he operated the well-known Darling Café at Coquitlam Centre.
Mr. Sanaie was a devoted member of the Bahá’í Faith. He attended several international Bahá’í conferences, traveled widely and twice made pilgrimage to the Bahá’í Holy Land in Haifa. He enjoyed staying informed about world events, exercising, playing chess and cards, and solving sudoku.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rezvan; four children and four grandchildren. He will be remembered as a generous, loyal, hardworking man whose greatest pride was his family and whose life was marked by service, perseverance, and faith.
