Laurie Hurtubise (Anora) was a wonderful comfort to our family in the loss of our mother and grandmother this past spring. Laurie is an excellent communicator, responding quickly to all concerns with professionalism and with kindness. Laurie supported and assisted us in writing a eulogy and helped us choose pictures and music for a lovely slideshow she prepared which we will treasure always. I highly recommend Anora, headed by Laurie, to individuals and families experiencing bereavement. Wendy Lynne Watson August 17, 2021

Laurie was compassionate and supportive, especially with a very young client. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly and gave my daughter the necessary time to make the best possible decisions about her father's funeral. She was thoughtful and inclusive with family members with exceptional needs. She coordinated with out of town relatives. She went way above and far beyond!

Laurie was amazing. When my Mother-in-Law passed away, the family didn't know where to turn, so we phoned Laurie. Her professionalism was amazing from the first moment of contact. Her kind and caring demeanor was present through the whole process. Laurie took care of all the details...right to the very end. And now both Grandma and Grandpa are remembered together in a special urn. Thank you Laurie!

I was so thankful to have been referred to Anora Cremation, Burial, and Events. After my 30 year old son negligently passed away at Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Port Coquitlam, BC, I was a mess! I live on the island, and there were covid restrictions to make matters worse. I couldn't be there to view him, or ensure the autopsy was completed so Laurie was a Godsend! She gave me the comfort that I really needed and I couldn't have made it through without her. I highly recommend Anora Cremation, Burial, and Events, Laurie, and her staff.

During our time of grief, Anora, was a Godsend. Laurie came to our home, helped us with all the details and arrangements after my Dad’s death. She took the load off us and handled everything. We felt at ease and in good hands. Laurie showed such kindness, care and compassion. I highly recommend Anora.

My father passed away in November and Laurie made all the arrangements and process very easy! I totally preferred her home office over a funeral home. It made it much more comfortable and I didn’t feel pressured. I would 100% recommend Laurie to everyone!

In the midst of a very challenging time for a family, it is very important to have someone experienced, considerate and competent helping to organize a final farewell for a family member. Laurie was this and so much more. While things were not traditional in any way during the time of restricted gatherings and social distancing in BC, Laurie still assisted our family in facilitating a beautiful send off for my Father. In some ways, the virtual event was the best case scenario to involve people as many of his friends and family members hail from different parts of the world. Because of the service being facilitated in this way, everyone who wanted to be involved was able to be which may not have been possible in a traditional service. Laurie was available to me for questions and helped me understand the timeline and process. She was also very helpful with suggestions and professional judgement in the planning process and went the extra mile on several occasions. I would happily recommend her services to anyone who is planning a final farewell.

ANORA's owner and operator, licensed Funeral Director, Laurie Hurtubise, is a consummate professional. Laurie’s heartfelt and ethical approach to deathcare means that her clients feel truly cared for and supported. Laurie is able to meet the needs of the family not only in pre-planning but also during the most difficult of days in a family’s journey. Her innovative approach means that not only can she offer virtual celebrations and is a mobile funerary service but she also offers green deathcare. I highly recommend Laurie and ANORA.

Laurie is very reliable, always on time (even early), professional, personable and extremely respectful of situations as they come up.

Laurie is fabulous!

She is so compassionate and knowledgeable from first contact when your Loved One has passed. Through all the stress of planning a Memorial for your Loved One. She does all the research and presents several options from venue thru catering.

You can be certain your Beloved family member will be cherished and lovingly looked after by Laurie. -N.S.

We were very grateful to have Laurie’s help after my father-in-law’s sudden unexpected passing. She immediately put our minds at ease. Her professionalism and caring nature was evident from the beginning of the process until after the funeral and burial. She really listened to what was important to us and made sure that everything went as we had planned. We especially appreciated the way she included the grandchildren at the cemetery and spoke to them at their age level. We had never planned a funeral before. We will definitely call her again when we need these services.
