M. Dennis

Walsh

Year of Birth: 1944
Date of Death: December 18th, 2025

Michael “Dennis” Walsh, 81, of Coquitlam B.C. passed peacefully December 18th, 2025, in his home with his wife and son at his side after a brief battle with cancer.

In 1944, Dennis was born in the north end of Winnipeg to parents Gladys and Mike Walsh. Shortly after, they moved to Vancouver. He attended Gladstone and later Killarney High School, where he met the love of his life, Diana. They were married in 1965, and the couple soon welcomed their only child, Gregory Dennis.

In 1967, Dennis took a job as a customs officer in the Port of Vancouver. He loved to tell stories of the people he met and the interesting experiences boarding ships from all over the world. After 33 years of service, Dennis retired.

In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed being a member of the masonic lodge, taking vacations, gardening (famous for his 9-foot tomato plants) and three meals a day of his wife’s wonderful cooking.

Dennis will be remembered as a dapper dresser, a vibrant member of his community, a fixture at block parties and always ready with a quip or a practical joke. It was a common sight to see him chatting away or saying hello to neighbours and strangers on his regular walks through the neighbourhood. Dennis lived a happy, social, and fully engaged life. He will be sadly missed.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Diana, his son, Gregory (Sharon), his two granddaughters, Charlotte and Samantha.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Dennis was a much loved Friend – so personable, so smart, funny, interesting…. we could go on forever. He enjoyed his wine with Gillen, we enjoyed many lovely dining adventures with him thanks to Diana. He was first most a family man who adored our Diana, admired and loved his son – the Chef extraordinaire. His granddaughters meant the world to him. We will miss him forever 🥰
